1. What this covers

This policy applies to the Her Shey AI mobile app (the "App"), an AI assistant you chat with. It explains what the App sends, where it goes and what we keep. Our backend runs on Google Firebase.

2. Guest use and accounts

You can use the App as a guest. A guest gets an anonymous ID from Firebase Authentication (Google); no name or e-mail is needed. You can also create an account with e-mail and password, Google or Sign in with Apple. For an account we store your e-mail address (or Apple's relay address if you choose Hide My Email), your name if the sign-in provider shares it, and your sign-in identifiers. On iPhone and iPad, so that the welcome messages are given once per device, our function asks Apple's DeviceCheck service to store and read a flag for your device; Apple tells us nothing that identifies the device or you.

3. Your conversations

When you send a message it goes to our function on Google Cloud (europe-west1) together with the recent part of the conversation, the assistant's settings and the notes the App keeps about you (section 4). It is then forwarded to DeepSeek, a provider based in China, which writes the reply. Your conversations are saved on your device and in your account (Google Firestore), so they are there when you reopen the App or sign in on another phone. Deleting a conversation in the App removes it from this device and from your account; in a conversation longer than 500 messages some older messages can remain in your account until you delete the conversation again or delete your account.

Web search. When a question needs current information, our function asks DeepSeek's search service with a query made from your message. If you ask for the exact text of a work (a poem, a song, a speech), our function may open the web page it found to quote it; that website sees a request from our server, not from you.

Reminders and notifications. When you ask an assistant to remind you of something, the reminder (its title and text, the time and repeat rule, your time zone and which chat or page it opens) is saved in your account. At the set time our function may first ask DeepSeek to prepare the content in that chat, using your memory notes and the recent conversation, and then sends the notification through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. For this the App stores your phone's notification token in your account. You can edit, turn off or delete every reminder in the App.

4. Memory, topics and your map

To keep replies personal, the assistants note short facts you share about yourself (for example your name or what you are working on). The App keeps these notes on your device and in your account and adds them to later requests. You can see every note in the App and delete one or all of them at any time. Topics and Living Guides you create, the replies you mark as favourites and each assistant's settings are also kept in your account.

Your map. When you ask the Travel Companion to save a place, the place's name, its position, the date, its kind and your note are kept in your account and shown on My World Map. The App never tracks your location in the background. The map's background images come from Esri (ArcGIS Online), which, like any online map, sees the map area your phone loads and your IP address. With Pro, the App can send your topics, or the last days of your map entries (day, time, place name, note and topic, not the position), to DeepSeek to suggest kinds of nearby places or to write a short summary. A suggested search, or directions to a saved place, opens in your phone's maps app (Apple Maps or Google Maps), which then uses its own location.

5. What you choose to attach

• Photos and videos. A photo you attach or take is sent to our function and forwarded, with the recent part of the conversation and your memory notes, to Google's Gemini model on Google Cloud Vertex AI to read it. For a video, your phone takes frames from it (one every 5 seconds, 4 to 16 in all) and puts them on one picture; only that picture is sent. We do not store the image.
• Sound files. When you use "Review audio", the sound file you pick (up to 10 minutes) is sent to our function and to Google Gemini on Vertex AI, which listens to it to answer you. We do not store the file.
• Documents. When you attach a PDF, Word, Excel or text file, its text is read on your phone and added to your message; it is then handled like any message (section 3). A scanned PDF that has no text (up to 8 MB) is sent as a file to our function and to Google Gemini on Vertex AI to read its pages; we do not store it.
• Speaking instead of typing. When you tap the microphone beside the send button, your phone's own speech recognition service (Apple on iPhone; Google or your phone's maker on Android) turns your speech into text while you speak. The audio goes to that service, not to us; depending on your phone it is processed on the device or by that service. Nothing is sent to us until you send the text, which is then handled like any message (section 3).
• Voice recordings in earlier versions. Earlier versions of the App could record a voice message ("Ses Kaydet"); such a recording is sent to our function and to fal.ai (Whisper speech-to-text), and only the resulting text is kept. The current version no longer records voice messages.
• Read aloud. When you ask to hear a reply (or, if you turn it on, automatically after each reply), the reply's text is sent to our function and to Google Cloud Text-to-Speech, which returns the audio. The audio is saved on your phone so a reply you play again is not sent again; we do not store it on our servers.
• Location. Only when you tap "Location": the App reads your current position, your phone's map service turns it into an approximate address, and both are added to your message as text. The App does not track your location in the background.
• Contacts. Only when you tap "Contact": the App reads your contact list on your phone to let you pick one person. Only the person you pick (name, phone numbers and e-mail addresses) is added to your message as text. Your contact list is not uploaded.
• Alarms and calendar notes. An alarm you confirm is set in your phone's Clock app on Android or as a notification from the App; a calendar note you confirm is written to your phone's calendar, with your permission. They stay on your phone.

Text added to a message (a location, a contact or a document's text) is sent to DeepSeek and saved in the conversation like the rest of the message.

Feedback. When you send feedback, your note, the pictures you add, the App's version, your phone's platform and the App's language are kept in your account so we can answer you in the App.

6. Purchases and limits

Subscriptions are bought through Google Play or the Apple App Store; we never see your card details. Our subscription service RevenueCat receives the purchase details and your App ID so your plan works on your devices. We keep counters per account (number of messages and voice uses per day and per month, characters read aloud per month, short time windows, your plan status and your phone's time-zone offset) to apply the free and paid limits. They contain no message content.

7. What we do not do

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. We do not use your content to train AI models. The App contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDK.

8. Who processes your data

• Google (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Functions, Firestore, Hosting, Cloud Messaging): your account or guest ID, conversations, memory notes, topics, favourites, map entries, reminders, feedback, notification token, settings and counters; our functions run in the EU (europe-west1).
• Google Cloud Vertex AI (Gemini): photos, video frames, sound files and scanned PDFs (section 5).
• Google Cloud Text-to-Speech: the text of a reply you ask to hear (section 5).
• DeepSeek (China): the text described in sections 3, 4 and 5, web searches, and the content it prepares for a reminder or your map.
• Apple or Google (your phone's speech recognition service): your speech while you use the microphone beside the send button (section 5).
• Esri (ArcGIS Online): the map area your phone loads on My World Map (section 4).
• Apple DeviceCheck: a per-device flag for the welcome messages on iPhone and iPad (section 2).
• fal.ai: voice recordings made with earlier versions of the App (section 5).
• RevenueCat: purchase details (section 6).
• Google and Apple: app distribution, payments and sign-in.

Some of these providers process data outside your country and outside the EU, under the safeguards in their own terms.

9. Keeping and deleting

Your data is kept while your account or guest ID exists. To delete it, open the Menu, then Profile, then "Delete account" at the bottom of the page; this removes your sign-in record and, on our servers, your conversations, memory notes, topics, favourites, map entries, reminders, feedback, settings and counters. Removing the App deletes what is on your phone. If you remove the App as a guest without deleting first, the guest data on our servers stays linked to an anonymous ID we cannot connect to you. Technical server logs are deleted within 30 days. Full instructions: Delete your account. You can also write to info@i-shim.com; we answer within 30 days.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR, KVKK, CCPA and similar) you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data and object to its processing. Write to info@i-shim.com.

11. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App, write to us and we will delete the data.

12. Changes

We post changes on this page and, where they are material, tell you in the App.
